Geerlig is not only an amazing teacher but also a genuinely lovely person who is so easy to chat with. He created a safe and supportive space where I felt comfortable addressing any concerns or questions about driving and my fears in certain situations. During my lessons, I received constant feedback and was taught how to handle various situations on the road, with a strong emphasis on driving safely. This personalized approach helped me overcome my slight fear of driving and stop overthinking—I became more confident with every session. The overall mood was super nice, and lessons were always conducted with patience and care. If you’re looking for the perfect driving school, this is it!

Fantastische ervaring: A great experience with Abel and passed my practical exam first time for an automatic license. Tuition - Abel was clear and always gave feedback on the spot so it was easy to identify and correct mistakes quickly. I was also provided a theory book to study at home which was a plus. Organisation - Thankfully, Lima makes use of the app “Rijsbewijs” to plan all lessons, pay invoices and links to your CBR account. Honestly, this is such a game changer in this industry as scheduling with other schools is a nightmare. With the mobile app, you can immediately see the instructors schedule and find the best times for yourself. Exams - I passed the practical first time. Despite the long wait for exam slots, Lima is well prepared by booking enough slots so that they can flex your exam date based on your progress. It took a couple of tries for the theory test, but that’s down to the individual to study. That said, Abel was always able to provide support and demonstrate theory concepts on the road. Professionalism - Abel was always responsive and accommodating if lessons needed to be changed. I was always notified of any delay (which was rare). Cost and duration - All in, I spent around €2.5k, including all lessons (1.5hrs each) and both theory and practical exams. I took 19 lessons (including a trial) amounting to 28 hours on the road. A lot less than the average of 42 hours - a testament to the quality of instruction provided by Lima. Would I recommend to someone else? Absolutely.

Fantastische ervaring: Recently, I passed my driving exam with the help of Geerling, and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience! From the moment I signed up, I felt welcomed and supported by his friendliness. Both Geerling and Abel are highly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping students learn from their own experiences. They are also fun and friendly to spend 90 minutes with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to learn how to drive safely and efficiently. They truly go above and beyond to ensure their students succeed!

Negatieve ervaring: After taking over 20 lessons at this driving school, I am extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The most frustrating aspect is that an agreement here seems to mean nothing. From the outset, I made it clear that I chose Driving School Lima because they teach in the Model Y, which is the same car I own. Although I took all my lessons in this car, my exam was scheduled in a different vehicle because my instructor, Geerlig, took the Model Y on vacation. When I raised this issue, his colleague Abel attempted to shift the blame onto me, insisting that it's normal for students to take their exams in a different car than they trained in (for the record: it is absolutely not). It took considerable effort to get the exam canceled, as Abel was completely unwilling to resolve the issue that was their fault in the first place. While Geerlig provided solid instruction during the lessons, the communication was terrible from the beginning. I had to put in a lot of effort just to coordinate practical matters like scheduling the exam. There was a complete lack of proactiveness and support. Despite the error with the exam, I was still willing to continue and take my exam with Lima. However, to my surprise, all my remaining lessons were canceled without any notice. Geerlig promised to call me but failed to do so. Instead, I received a WhatsApp message stating that Lima couldn’t meet my demands and that I should find another driving school when the only thing left to do is the exam. This has been a very disappointing and unprofessional experience.

Negatieve ervaring: Mijn ervaring met deze rijschool was zeer teleurstellend. De instructeurs Abel en Geerlig waren onprofessioneel en nalatig in hun werk. Ze waren vaak onbereikbaar, kwamen afspraken niet na en reageerden zeer onprofessioneel wanneer ze hierop werden aangesproken. Deze rijschool werd mij door een collega aangeraden, en ik heb vervolgens mijn vrouw aangeraden hier rijlessen te nemen. Dit blijkt helaas een grote fout te zijn geweest. Mijn vrouw heeft voor meer dan duizend euro aan rijlessen gevolgd en stond op het punt haar rijexamen te doen. De afspraak was dat ze dit examen zou afleggen in dezelfde auto waarin ze had geleerd, maar Geerlig nam deze auto mee op vakantie. Op het allerlaatste moment werd ons door Abel verteld dat ze in een andere auto examen moest doen. Toen wij hierover klaagden, kregen wij de schuld toegeschoven. Vervolgens werden de ingeplande lessen van mijn vrouw zonder overleg geannuleerd. Uiteindelijk kregen we een bericht dat de rijschool niet aan haar verwachtingen kon voldoen en dat het beter zou zijn om verder te gaan met een andere rijschool. Dit gedrag is ongehoord, en het is onbegrijpelijk dat leerlingen niet in de auto mogen afrijden waarin ze hun lessen hebben gevolgd.

Fantastische ervaring: Abel was een verademing vergeleken met de 3 eerdere instructeurs waar ik een proefles bij had genomen. Hij stelt je echt op je gemak en richt zich op de zaken die er echt toe doen om veilig en vlot te rijden. De Tesla Model 3 is ook een zeer prettige auto om in te rijden met een goed gedoseerd gaspedaal waarmee je ook het meeste remwerk doet. De lessen van 90 zijn minder gehaast en bieden de ruimte om thuis te worden opgehaald en afgezet. De lesplanning, communicatie en financiele afhandeling verlopen zeer professioneel. Een grote aanrader!

Fantastische ervaring: When you see a 5 star and doubt about it. I would like to tell you LIMA driving school and Abel really deserve a 5 star. Similar to the other stories you could read from the other reviews. I failed several times practices exams and did 2 times theory exams before I decided to move to LIMA 3 month ago. My theory exam result will expire this summer, I spoke with Abel and he immediately booked an exam before the expiration date and correct all my minor mistakes I didn't notice from the past learnings. And we made it!!!! Recommend Abel and LIMA to everyone who wants to get your driving license and say bye to CBR!!

After taking over 100 hours of lessons with another school and failing my practical exam, my previous teacher told me that he thinks I will never be able to drive because of my anxiety :( It was a very sad day for me, but luckily I came across LIMA and I saw a lot of positive reviews from other anxious drivers, so I decided to give it a go. Today I am writing this review with a lot of excitement because I just got my driving license! I honestly feel lucky to have found LIMA and have met Geerlig who is a truly talented teacher and a great coach! During our lessons, he made me feel at ease, identified my improvement areas, gave constant feedback, was extremely attentive and patient, and after every lesson I felt significant improvement in my skill. Fantastische ervaring: I passed the exam today with Geerlig. It was amazing, and we are both very happy with the result! I did two other trial lessons and decided to go with Lima after meeting Geerlig. I think he is very kind and always in a good mood, so it helps with the atmosphere, especially when you have to deal with stressful driving situation. I passed after 28 lessons, which is very average, and I am so proud of it. I did it with his teaching and also by meeting a nice examiner. Great appreciation, thank Geerlig! I really enjoyed the whole process from getting behind the Tesla wheel the first time up to the exam day. Fantastische ervaring: Great instructors! Attentive, positive, and I felt safe driving in smaller streets and on a highway. Always on time, many little remakes that are helpful to learn. We could find a suitable date for my exam, since the school has many students and planned exams. English and Dutch friendly, thus both expat and local friendly. Learning driving electric car and Tesla was an interesting experience, now I have a good command how it will be with my personal car. Happy we had lessons together. Good luck!

After having failed multiple times the practical exam for driving cars, and having gone through different driving schools, I had confidence issues, and even feared driving. Abel taught me with patience and a smile, and helped me build safe driving skills, as well as building my confidence back. Now I even enjoy driving! Additionally, the car we drove was very comfortable, and well equipped, and his music playlist helped me keep my focus and be relaxed while driving.

When I begun this journey i had three aims. 1. pass without extreme delays, 2. to be strong technically and with good vision with a high ceiling for self-development, three- to have fun doing it. Thanks to Abel, I was able to accomplish all three. He is patient, warm and supportive especially with my slowness to learn new concepts haha. He's able to explain clearly how to improve and to find root causes holding back personal development. Also, there system for booking and invoicing is efficient. Everything if i was to describe it in car terms- a well oiled machine :). That's why I recommend LIMA to anyone, especially those who are fearful of how the journey will end in the first 0-10 lessons. No unnecessary rush, no irritations, a lot of patience from the driving instructor, and a pleasant ambience during the lessons. I did try 2 other driving schools, so I could really compare and thats why I’m confidently recommending Geerlig - he’s really great instructor! Driving with him was educative, fun and enjoyable. I’ve been nervous, he did his best to make me laugh and gain the confidence. He always took time for me, and really prepared for the exam. We’ve been through all situations, whenever I was not doing my best, we were repeating the route. The exam went exactly how we’ve been practicing! And bonus: if you choose automatic car, you’ll be driving Tesla!! The best part is that this car is much more easier to handle, so you have more chance to pass the exam ! “specials manoeuvres” are not that special anymore, you’ll have huge screen in the car, seeing everything back :) ❗️Important note: most probably you’ll be picked up from your home, so do NOT reject school because of google location! Fantastische ervaring: I had an excellent experience with this driving school, specifically with my instructor, Abel. I'm an experienced driver from the United States (I have driven for almost 15 years) and Abel respected my skill, and proposed only a few lessons before my exam. Other schools encouraged me to take 10-15 lessons just to take my money, and so I appreciated that he was focusing on my needs vs. the business. He was very clear with feedback during lessons and I passed my exam with no issues. Excellent for expats!!

Patient, helpful and calm and really understood what I needed in terms of help (and when to be pushed). It seemed like a bit more expensive school but in the end it was cheaper than I expected and they helped me pass in 1st go which also helps price-wise. Best decision ever! Driving in a different country can be nervous and I've heard it's not easy to pass the exam in Netherlands. Fantastische ervaring: I had failed my first test in manual transmission (at another driving school) and decided to try for Automatic transmission with LIMA, which was a success after only 1 month of practice. If I was to use three words to describe the learning process with Geerlig it would be; flexible, insightful, and fun. You can really plan well ahead of time your schedule and there is no 'pressure' to book more lessons because of the open communication you will have. I actually learnt more in 1 month of driving an automatic car than 1.5 years of driving a manual car. I think this difference is highly attributable to Geerling and his driving school. Fantastische ervaring: LIMA is an incredible driving school that cares about their students and their success. I had the pleasure of working with Geerlig. I needed to do the test as I had a foreign driving license. Geerlig immediately noticed I was experienced and started correcting my mistakes that I was used to after 14 years of driving. I was very well prepared for my practical and passed on my first go. He’s obviously a master at his craft. Lastly, Geerlig is a really nice and funny guy, and I really enjoyed spending time with him, he was a pleasure to work with and created a relaxed environment. Bonus: You’ll be driving an awesome Tesla if you’re going for Automatic transmission!

Fantastische ervaring: Extremely happy to have finally passed my driving exam :) This is, in no small part, thanks to the super helpful lessons by Geerlig. He is a very capable driving instructor and more importantly he was always very polite and patient with me. He has a knack for spotting the underlying issues with one’s driving style that might lead them to failing at the actual exams, and he goes to great lengths to correct those issues. I have never had problems booking lessons with him and also he was extremely flexible with my request of picking me up sometimes from my home and sometimes from my work which really allowed me to plan the lessons during normal working hours. I got all my lessons in a Tesla which is (as far as I am aware of, in Amsterdam) something definitely unique to Geerlig’s driving school, and oh boy, is driving a Tesla an experience. I would go so far as to say that all that advanced tech that this car boasts of makes it one of the easiest cars to drive as an absolute beginner. Add to all this, his ability to keep the mood light and jovial in the car, and you have got yourself set up for some really enjoyable lessons that you actually look forward to. In summary, I really enjoyed all the driving lessons from Geerlig and am ever grateful to him for helping me pass my Dutch driving exam. I wish him and his school my best. Cheers !

Fantastische ervaring: First of all, I got referred to LIMA because my friend had lesson with LIMA and had a very good experience (and her husband). And it was the same for me :) Due to Corona, there were definitely some hiccups in my own progress to follow up with lessons but both of them were very patient, because by the end of the day they truly want us to not only to pass exam but also drive safe, confidently. I had an opportunity to learn with both Geerlig and Abel (had to swap because now Geerlig focuses on automatic car, and Abel on manual car). Doesn't matter which lesson/car you will take, 100% that you will have a pleasant time learning. Two brothers, two different styles but both are very supportive, understanding, relaxed and fun to be around with. One thing for sure I will miss: driving with them, next to me, and have a pleasant time and talks. So. More than 100% recommending LIMA. Wish LIMA and all future students all the success. Fantastische ervaring: Best driving school in Amsterdam! I moved from the U.S. to the Netherlands, although I have my U.S. drivers license, unfortunately I can't exchange it because I wasn't qualified to get the 30% ruling. After doing some research, I learned I have to take both writing and road exams here in the Netherlands. Unlike the U.S., in the Netherlands you have to book the road exam with a driving school. I found Lima Driving school because they offered automatic car driving lessons (aka Tesla). Also they have a lot of experience working with expats. My instructor Geerlig is great, he guided me through the whole process, and I only took a few lessons with him then we booked the exam. Of course, I passed it. Geerlig knows what the examiner is looking for, and he pointed out some of my "bad' driving habits that might impact my road exam. I took his feedback and made some adjustments on my driving behaviors. I highly recommend Lima Driving school for everyone who wants to get a Dutch drivers license.

Through the trial lesson he gave me feedback on how many lessons I had needed before the test. Everything went seamlessly - Abel was always on time, always communicated well and taught me the difference between the Dutch and American infrastructure. I passed both the theory and practical exam on the first try with many thanks to Abel! :D All of my Dutch friends who have learned how to drive didn't recommend their driving instructors and generally had negative experiences through the process. I was in very difficult situation to get the driver's license as I have an anxiety issue with an exam and I have quite some experiences with many other driving schools. But I finally made my exam with LIMA. First of all, LIMA's administration is digital and automatic. So I didn't have to be stressed to plan my driving lessons. I can tell you that this is quite an advantage since I experienced so many driving schools. Talking about the driving instructor, Abel. Fantastische ervaring: Highly recommended!! 2 instructors super friendly and patient, I selected this school because I felt anxious about driving but they really guide your through and don’t pressure you at all. I started from zero and had no experience and managed to get my theory and driving petit in one year (I was taking my time!). They are also super arranging, in terms of schedule, many evening classes are available and weekends, and they come pick you up wherever you want and always drop you at home. I had really a great experience and missed leaving my instructors at the end!

Friendly and patient, extremely patient. I started from point zero and they taught me everything I needed to know in order to be safe on the road and, of course, pass the test (did at first time). From an administrative point of view they make everything easy, you book your lessons via an app and you get your invoices at the end of the month. It turned out that I learnt fast and my instructor never tried to get me into unnecessary lessons, and he booked a date for the exam as soon as possible, it really builds a trustworthy relationship. Fantastische ervaring: I had several driving lessons when I was 17/18 in the UK but I couldn't find much motivation or interest. Then I moved around and driving was never really necessary or important where I lived. Now ten years later and living in Amsterdam I wanted to finally be able to drive so I contacted Lima, as I saw they specialised as an international driving school. Geerlig promptly got in touch and organised a trial lesson for me and I was amazed to be driving a car to my home in the streets of Amsterdam. After about 6 months of lessons I finally had my driving licence. Lima have a very organised system with booking lessons and were always prompt with lesson times. I felt very comfortable driving alongside Geerlig, much more comfortable than I remembered in the UK - where there's not even any bikes or trams to worry about! Any manoeuvres or technical driving he taught me very quickly; I almost thought that this seems too easy! I would highly recommend Lima for anyone looking to drive.
